A Facebook phone has been talked about for probably over a year, and come Thursday it shall be unveiled to us. Many have speculated that the HTC Myst will be what this new Facebook phone will be called, but now information is indicating that it will be more of a home replacement. Welcome to Facebook Home.
So Mr. Zuckerberg wants to take over your Android phone with his very own launcher. Why not? He knows Facebook is slowly dying down, so why not attack the Android platform to grab people’s attention again? Specs of the new phone have supposedly been leaked out, and it is looking like this phone is going be pretty mid-ranged.
• HTC Myst on AT&T with 4G LTE
• 4.3-inch 720p HD display
• Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor
• 1GB RAM
• 5 megapixel rear, 1.6 front camera
• Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean covered in Facebook
• Sense UI 4.5 (not new Sense like the One)
• WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, etc.
Specs are not at all impressive, so I am guessing they are shooting for a cheap easy to use experience for those die hard Facebook users that post about everything. Funny how it says it will be running Sense, yet this new experience is suppose to be a home replacement. I know all of us Android enthusiasts think this is the dumbest idea Android and HTC could come up with, and I would not be surprised if it falls flat on its face. I guess come Thursday we find out what this experience is going to be all about. Let us know what you think.
