It’s Finally Happening: HTC One Max To Be Officially Announced October 15th

htc one maxWe’ve known about the HTC One Max for some time now, with all manner of leaked specifications and candid photos all over the internet, with the only thing missing from the equation is an official announcement from HTC that they are in fact bringing their phablet version of the HTC One to market. HTC has put that doubt to rest now with invitations going out alerting the media to various launch events in roughly a week’s time. ePrice seems to believe that the announcement will occur first in China on October 15th, although the pictured invitation above refers to a October 18th launch in Taiwan. We’re inclined to believe that October 15th is a valid date as this was previously alluded to in the One Max’s TENAA certification.

Whatever the real date is, we can be assured that this event relates to the HTC One Max as the invitation reads “One finger opens up a big view”, probably referring to the controversial fingerprint scanner we’ve seen on the back of the device. The HTC One Max is expected to carry a hefty 5.9-inch display and is rumoured to be using a slightly older Qualcomm Snapdragon S4. Regardless of what hardware is in the One Max, HTC needs to get their maiden, flagship phablet out on the market to try and jump-start their sales after a disappointing financial quarter.

Is the HTC One Max too little too late, or is there a chance the One Max can give HTC the boost it needs to get back in the big leagues? Let us know what you think in the comments.
