Firefox for Android received a few updates today, along with some enhancements to its browser for Mac, Windows and Linux.
The update replaces three of Android’s default fonts with open source fonts, Charis and Open Sans to “make the web more beautiful and easier to read on your small screen.” The app also includes some compatibility improvements to the HTML5 structure, scoring 421 out of 500 on a HTML5test.com compliance test. Customizable Top Sites, Per-Tab private browsing and the ability to save files with a long tap are incorporated into the update as well.
Mozilla will be bringing a “more social, customizable and personal” experience with the addition of new social partners Cliqz, Mixi, msnNOW and Facebook Messenger. Facebook was the first social partner; integrated into the browser last year. All social networks and news applications show up in a sidebar on the right side of the browser.
The new version will also include support for Firefox Health Report, which shows detailed information on your browser’s time to start up, total running time, number of crashes, etc. Health Report then gives the tools necessary for fixing any problems associated with your browser.
You can download version 21 of Firefox for Android on Google Play, and be sure to check out the latest features of the Firefox browser.
