Another awesome feature is the photo feed that you pull from offers up the senders information, how long ago it was posted and likes and various other bits of information. If you just pull up the gallery of the photos from the feeds you can click on an individual one and see all the sender info, message attached, links from the message, like it and share it.
But wait there is more!!! So fun to say that in an infomercial sounding voice. On the bottom right hand side of the app, when the stream is playing, you have this wickedly cool icon to tap. Yes, it is the infamous Google Voice search button. Need to look something up real quick? Maybe send a quick message to someone? Simply, tap the voice command button say what you need and you are off to the races. The app works with various phones and tablets and each device can use various aspects a little differently. The voice commands are really created for use on the Nexus 7 and Jelly Bean devices. After testing it out on an ICS toting Vibrant, it worked out pretty well, but it makes me really see that I need a new phone badly and a kick butt tablet too.
For more information about the application, voice commands and updates about the app, you will want to visit Cloud.tv’s website. They plan to release the full and completed version later this fall and we will be sure to alert you to when that happens. To sang the preview version head over to the Play Store by clicking or scanning the QR code below. After you get things rolling let us know what you think in the comments along with your device. DayFrame Public Preview Available Thursday, September 6th.
The creative minds behind HD Widgets and Cloudskipper are happy to announce a public preview of their upcoming app, DayFrame, will be available as a free download on Thursday September 6th.Our goal was to create the next big thing: a revolutionary dock app for the Nexus 7 and other Android tablets and devices.DayFrame’s outstanding feature is an always up-to-date photostream of friends, family, and interests gathered together from your favorite social networks, including Instagram, Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.Spend less time flipping through apps and enjoy pictures in your real world. DayFrame pulls from several sources, mixing personal moments with shared art and memes so it’s always fresh and interesting. But DayFrame is more than a slideshow. Not only did we include social essentials like user info, caption, likes, and comments, we also added practical HUD features like time & date, current weather, next alarm, and battery/charge status. But the KILLER difference is the BIG voice-command button on the front of the slideshow. Need to look something up? Send a message? Now just tap and say it. Want to comment on a friend’s picture? No problem – speak and send! Now that’s a dock app!We also wanted something useful for repurposing older Android tablets: place one in the kitchen and let it run as a voice-controlled home kiosk and conversational photo frame. Wicked.DayFrame works on all Android devices running 2.3 & up but works best using Jellybean’s amazingly accurate voice input. There’s so much to do and much more to come, but we couldn’t wait. We really wanted to share our idea and start getting feedback early on.This is a functional alpha release that will be available this Thursday morning. The official release will be out later in the fall.Enjoy!-radley & mike————————————————————————————————————————–A few interesting bits not in the press release:– It’s called DayFrame to compliment Night Stand apps– DayFrame could be huge for Tumblr users– Twitter is banning apps like this in Spring 2013– DayFrame may be Android-only since “desktop apps” are prohibited in Apple’s App Store– the tablet stand in the attached picture is a 3D-printed prototype of a universal stand we’re working on
