Full 2 Minute HTC ‘Change’ Ad Is Released, Doesn’t Really Change Anything

htcAs promised yesterday, HTC has released a full 2-minute ad today that extends the ‘Change’ theme that HTC have been teasing these last few weeks, and well, it’s not exactly a coherent experience. Have a watch of it yourself:

If nothing else, the ad does capture the eccentric, random Robert Downey Jr. that we have come to love because of the Iron Man movies, however the entire ad comes across as even more eccentric and random. On the one hand, HTC is perhaps attempting to rebrand itself with its “subversive thinking”, however the ad actually harks back and showcases many of the HTC One‘s features in abstract form as well as the phone making several cameos.

Does that look like BlinkFeed to you?

What is ‘changing’ with HTC itself or its products is not immediately obvious, however, the campaign is still in its infancy, so we’ll see if there is more light shed on the idea in the near future. Otherwise, Mr Downey Jr. is going to have to do a little more explaining.

What do you make of the ad? Enjoyably random, or a little bit pointless? Let us know what you think.
