Galaxy Nexus gets easily-flashable factory image courtesy of Google

If you have followed along the Google and all things that are Nexus related, then you know they support the development community pretty openly. It is pretty much the sole purpose of the Nexus line of devices. Unlocked bootloaders and customizable with minimal effort. In a normal devs life flashing their device a multitude of times in a day happens pretty often. Checking things out making sure alterations work and the ROM plays nice with the device. Issues arise often and needing to go back and start over is a continuous process. Most devs keep a back up around for the simple purpose of starting at ground zero again. The same rings true for most people that flash their devices. Now you won’t have to worry about that original ‘stock’ back up file getting lost or deleted.

Google has released a flashable factory image for the Galaxy Nexus. It is prebuilt with a flash-all script that will flash everything back to the way the device once was when you opened up the box while still leaving the bootloader unlocked. Ultimately clearing out anything that may have gone wrong during a ROM flash or test. Talk about a life saving tool!

This is only available for HSPA+ and GSM versions currently. Which is all the ones that have been released so far. When another version comes available be sure to check back for a second release. Feel free to pop on over to Google Groups to pick it up.
