Get Your Own “Mini Me”

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have an action figure sized version of yourself, OK, so a few of us have.  Well now you can.  The Omote 3D photo booth in Japan have taken the 3D printing phenomenon to the next level.  I’ve watched several vids over the last many months relating to 3D printing and all I can say is, that is freaking sweet.

So, you may ask, what does it cost and what do you have to do to get your OWN action figure of you, your dog, your kids, your…anything?  Well, first you need to make a reservation for the booth, travel to Japan, select the size of you that you are looking to have created (10,15, or 20cm), stand still for approximately 15-20 minutes so enough info can be gathered and digitally rendered to create a triple-D version of you, pay your tab (21,000, 32,000, or 42,000 yen) and then pick up your very own Mini Me.

The booth is only open for a limited engagement, from November 24-January 14, 2013, so you still have time to get your reservation, book that flight, and get your mini me on.  I think this would be a great idea for a family portrait, a gift for loved ones, a great gag (makes you look like Mike TV from Willy Wonka, just stationary), or a whole host of other crazy ideas.  I know if there was one of these booths around where I live, I would be first in line, after sleeping outside the booth for a few days, to get a carbon copy of me and my boy.

Check these guys out, imagine the possibilities, live the possibilities, and post your 3D pics here, we’d love to see them.

Zachdroid…OUT!
