Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have an action figure sized version of yourself, OK, so a few of us have. Â Well now you can. Â The Omote 3D photo booth in Japan have taken the 3D printing phenomenon to the next level. Â I’ve watched several vids over the last many months relating to 3D printing and all I can say is, that is freaking sweet. Â
So, you may ask, what does it cost and what do you have to do to get your OWN action figure of you, your dog, your kids, your…anything? Â Well, first you need to make a reservation for the booth, travel to Japan, select the size of you that you are looking to have created (10,15, or 20cm), stand still for approximately 15-20 minutes so enough info can be gathered and digitally rendered to create a triple-D version of you, pay your tab (21,000, 32,000, or 42,000 yen) and then pick up your very own Mini Me.
The booth is only open for a limited engagement, from November 24-January 14, 2013, so you still have time to get your reservation, book that flight, and get your mini me on. Â I think this would be a great idea for a family portrait, a gift for loved ones, a great gag (makes you look like Mike TV from Willy Wonka, just stationary), or a whole host of other crazy ideas. Â I know if there was one of these booths around where I live, I would be first in line, after sleeping outside the booth for a few days, to get a carbon copy of me and my boy. Â
Check these guys out, imagine the possibilities, live the possibilities, and post your 3D pics here, we’d love to see them. Â
Zachdroid…OUT!
