Google is rolling out an update to its Calendar app that will move it to version 5.2. The update will be bringing back something that has probably frustrated and irritate many of you, a full monthly view of your calendar. As it sits before the update, you have to tap the toggle to drop the a small monthly view calendar from the top of the screen. It still keeps the card style event listing below it. While you can see the whole month, you can only see small colored dots on days where events might be scheduled. With the latest update though you will be able to bring up the entire month on the screen with the more traditional quick glancing view of your pending schedule.
Google outlines the following on a G+ post about the update:
â— See even more events at a glance with Month view on phones.
â— See the color of events when jumping to a date.
â— Easily switch views now that they are listed in the navigation drawer.
As much as I love and use Google Calendar, the drop down month view was a serious pain in the keester to me. I preferred seeing the whole month with a bit of text about what was happening on those days. Made scheduling things so much easier and required so many less clicks to see.
The update is rolling out in waves as always. However, if you are impatient and want to get your hands on it now you most certainly can do so over at Gappsearly.com.
