Back in August Google started getting things together for their new Helpouts service. The service would help professionals from all over the world offer up their services in a simple fashion. Basically connecting you with the help you need for what ever you are needing help with. For instance, trying to fix your car or solve a coding bug issue in your app.
Today, we’re announcing Helpouts—a new way to get and give help over live video. Our goal is simple: help people help each other. We want to use the convenience and efficiency of the web to enable everyone, no matter where they are or what time it is, to easily connect with someone who can help
It is all pretty simple really. Professionals sign-up and get their profiles set for their expertise. They can offer Helpouts for free, or set a price. It is all determined by the professional of course. Google will provide all the tools one could need like screen sharing and video communication. The service is good to go on mobile and on your PC. You choose the professional and set your time based on their availability.
Google has launched the service today, but it only features a few categories. It does have quite a few professionals available for your viewing though.
As you can see, some are free, some are inexpensive and some are CRAZY expensive. It all comes down to you and what you need help with and how much you are willing to invest.
You can pick the app for free in the Play Store (link below) or if you prefer to look around at the service on your PC you can visit helpouts.google.com. It will only be helpful to those of you living in the USA, UK, Australia or Canada at the moement though.
