The Google
Nexus 7 tablet is easily one of the best prices tablets to land in the world of Android. Sure there are others out there you can pick up on-sale for less, but they are not nearly as powerful and generally have some crazy UI overlay on them. Very recently, Google changed the shipping timeline in the Play Store from 3-4 weeks down to 1-2 weeks. That alone is great news for those that have already pre-ordered or plan to do so shortly.
While getting your hands on the Nexus 7 isn’t terribly difficult, only being able to do so through the Play Store is a bit of a downside to some with out active bank accounts or Debit/Credit Cards. I didn’t see a way to charge it to my carrier. That can leave some people out of the loop that would love to get their hands on one. Thankfully, retailers know this and are bringing the tablet to store locations for people to physically pick up. A new leaked image shows that Office Depot should have the Nexus 7 available in 341 locations and online Thursday July 12th. If that happens, then you could grab one before Google ships out to the pre-order buys.
Staples already has their pre-order page live on their website, with a listing of out of stock at the moment. While the tablet itself will be slightly more expensive at $249.99, it is still a great option for those that can’t order one through Google.
