There is one thing the Android community can always rely on, that is the amazing amount of talent on hand on the developer side of your devices. It should really be no surprise that the
Nexus Q is already the target of developers. Heck, Google I/O is packed with developers and they all got one yesterday. With around 6,000 brilliant minds in attendance, it was only a matter of time before someone pulled the trigger and looked to see what the Q might just be able to do. It does have a dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and 16GB of memory, so it has the power to do more. With that being said, Philippe Hausle from Apportable already has a little gaming action pulled though the Q. Don’t go and get too excited just yet though, he has Swords and Soldiers up on the screen, but with out a touchscreen or way to control the game all you get is the splash screen. With the Q able to connect to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth it shouldn’t take developers long to turn your phone into a remote or use some other type of Bluetooth control to connect to it.
The only real question is if the price turns off to many people from buying one. It is a great little device, but $300 seems a bit steep for the few things it does. Unless you host lots of parties and really want to let your friend change tracks with their device, a Vizio Co-Star will do nearly the same operations. Plus, the Play Store on Google TV is updating soon with Movies, Music and TV Shows and the Co-Star already has a remote and OnLive support.
