Hugo Barra may have denied the N1 but he does confirm the Nexus S for ICS ‘Within Weeks’

Well Hugo, you may have crushed many hopes and dreams this morning when you flat out stated the Nexus One wouldn’t get an official Ice Cream Sandwich Update. At least you came back with some rather good news though. Hugo let every one know that existing Nexus S devices will be receiving the usual free OTA for Ice Cream Sandwich ‘Within weeks.’ He continued on saying that they plan to get the update out to all current owners of the flagship device shortly after the launch of the Galaxy Nexus next month. Which could put your NS sporting official ICS by mid to late November.

The remaining question in my mind will be what Nexus S devices. Sprint has it, will they also be updating that device or are we only talking about the unlocked devices? No one ever makes mention of that, ever. It is one of the toughest things to account for and even think about. At least you know there will be an update coming. If Sprint gets left out of the update you can expect to see some rooted deodexed versions being released by the community.
