Here we have yet another case of carrier branded versions sitting by the way side laying in wait. Huawei Has recently released an Ice Cream Sandwich update for the
MediaPad. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first ICS update to land for a 7-inch tablet in the wild. We could be wrong on that of course. The update is not available via an OTA unfortunately, rather you will need to hit up
Huawei’s download center to snag the 330mb file and apply it directly to your device.
With Huawei officially making ICS available for its device, we wonder how long it is going to take T-Mobile to get an update out. Will it be in the next 30 days? 60 days? Will T-mobile even take the time to bloat up the update or let the MediaPad die in the stores and move to something new? As much as I’d like to believe they will get right on it, I am more inclined to think that it will probably never happen.
