It seems that the new trend in the computer world is the Tablet computer, or as some now like call them, Slate computers. Many manufacturers are reportedly working on their version of the slate computer and the picture below shows a possible contender from HP that is reported to be available by midyear. H.P.’s slate will have a camera and ports for add-on devices, like a mouse.
As the wars are waged in the wake of the iPad release, it wouldn’t be much of a surprise for Google to launch their own variant. With the reactions from the press and users about the lacking features of the Apple iPad, other manufacturers have an excellent opportunity to learn from Apple’s possible mistakes and create a product that could dominate this market.
The New York Times has just reported that Google is soon expected to begin selling its version of a slate computer, like Apple’s iPad, while Nokia — the world’s biggest cellphone maker — is planning to enter the digital book market through a slate-cum-e-reader as well.
