[Kickstarter] Meet the ‘Life-Spot’, A home charger to power up 8 devices at Once

Life Spot
We all have them. Mobile devices I mean. We all have friends who have iPhones, iPads and various Android devices. We have all been in that situation where we are in an all iPhone home and had a dead device, but no charger available. Maybe your iPhone toting buddies came over for beer and food to watch the game and their phone is dying. Unless you have an iOS product yourself, you won’t have a charger for them. Maybe to many people are over at your place and you have run out of chargers and power outlets. Life happens all the time and I am sure you have been in one of these situations at least once in your life.

There is a new Kickstarter campaign underway called Life-Spot. It is the ultimate universal charging device for your home or business. The Life-Spot will charge 8 devices at a time. It features retractable cables that sit next to small pockets to set your device in while charging. There are 2 iPhone 5 (lightning) chargers, 2 iPhone (30 pin) chargers and 4 Micro USB chargers. Each plug has an LED indicator built-in to let you see when your phone is fully charged without having to go take a look at it.

Life Spot
The Life-Spot is designed to sit easily on a counter top or can be mounted to a wall if you prefer. It is even built to be internationally universal. It weighs in at just 2.25 pounds and is 11.75″ x 6.25″ x 6.25″ . The images make it look HUGE, but it really isn’t all that big. It sure would look much nicer and be more convenient than filling up plugs around your home or office with cables and cords.

As with all Kickstarters there are various levels of pledges to get in on to help take this project into production. The lowest pledge amount available to get your hands on a first run version will be $119. The Life-Spot is scheduled for retail at $199. So you are saving some cash by getting in now. Word of warning though, there are on 14 spots left at that price. Once those are gone the next level is $149. It goes up from there of course.

The only thing I could see in this product that I would have slightly changed would be the addition of a couple extra USB ports. Not like there aren’t enough cables and charging solutions built in already, but some tablets use a different charger, like the Samsung tablets. It would have been nice to had a solution for the one of situations also,
