LG Announces Ice Cream Sandwich updates to start April 2012

Early this morning LG dropped an update to their plans for Ice Cream Sandwich updates to their current line of devices. They are stating that the global updates will start to roll out no sooner than Q2 of next year, which puts them at April of 2012. They even took the announcement a step further by including a list of devices that will be getting the icy goodness.

I suppose that is a pretty good start. They also went on with a list of devices that will be updated during Q3, which starts in July.

LG will be taking all possible measures to ensure a smooth OS upgrade to these device in a timely manner. Of course, specific dates for updates are still to be determined. Mostly because they have to get the carriers to back the update and add their little bit of bloatware, I mean flare, to the update first. Even though many stateside devices might have an update available, it will be up to our wonderful carriers to get it out. As many of us know that could take another 3 to 6 months if ever. I guess we will just all have to wait and see what starts to transpire in April and beyond.
