LG has today made official their new 8.3-inch tablet, the LG G Pad 8.3, which is going to be their first tablet since the Optimus Pad. LG teased their tablet earlier in the week with this video:
Key Specifications:
- Processor: 1.7GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragonâ„¢ 600 Processor
- Display: 8.3-inch WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels / 273 ppi)
- Memory: 16GB eMMC
- RAM: 2GB LPDDR2
- Camera: Rear 5.0MP / Front 1.3MP
- Battery: 4,600mAh Operating System: Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2
- Size: 216.8 x 126.5 x 8.3mm
- Weight: 338g
- Colors: Black / White
A fairly complete package, though it’s disappointing to see that LG once again, as with the LG G2, won’t be shipping one of their new devices with Android 4.3. Furthermore, a Snapdragon 600 processor seems a little underpowered, but in the advent of the Moto X, I think we would be better off reserving judgement till we see the tablet in action inevitably at IFA 2013 this week.
There’s been no word yet on pricing, but we know the G Pad 8.3 will be coming to North America, Europe and Asia at the very least by Q4 2013, so it could make for a nice stocking stuffer, depending on the price.
What are your thoughts about the LG G Pad 8.3? Attractive, or a little ho hum? Let us know what you think in the comments.
