Limited edition Droid RAZR lands for Verizon employees Only

We heard a rumor of a limited edition Droid RAZR just a few days ago, but nothing concrete managed to make its way to web, until now. No we all get a chance to see just what makes this so ‘special.’ Besides the nice red/black color scheme and the ‘Limited Edition’ engraved on the front, nothing. Employees of Verizon have a chance to snag one of these up for only $99 and even get a free dock to boot. If that doesn’t tickle the employees fancy, Verizon is also offering a Droid RAZR MAXX for $199 with the same engraving, color scheme and dock.

Not a bad offering for current employees if you ask me. The devices are said to be available for employee only purchase coming up in April. We are sure some of them will land on Craigslist and eBay shortly after. Along with the subsequent firing of any employee that does so. Who really wins there? If you see one in the wild you can bet they are most likely a Verizon Employee.

Whats your take on this? Is it OK that Verizon employees get access to a device for a great price that the public will never have a chance to own? What good is getting a limited edition device if you can’t sell it without worrying about your job? I fully support the perks of discounted devices for employees, it is one perk that makes working for them worth it. I just think it is ridiculous to tell them that if they sell it they can lose their job.
