Logitech and Google might be fighting a losing battle against Microsoft

I absolutely love my Logitech Revue. Netflix, YouTube and the browser are the main functions it serves in my house hold. Heck, I even canceled my Dish Network to stream Netflix full-time. Saves me oodles of cash. There are still a few things that have been a struggle for the company and the device. One of the biggest struggles was locking down prime time network agreements to bring exclusive content to the device. Netflix has the same issue all on its own. Microsoft on the other hand, has just locked down agreements with a huge list of new content providers for the XBox 360, check it out –

  • ABC iView – Australia
  • AlloCiné – France, Germany, Spain, U.K.
  • Antena 3 – Spain
  • Astral Media’s Disney XD – Canada

Keep in mind, that is the list of “NEW” additions.

With it already being the first week of October, and still no Honeycomb update information in site, I can’t help but wonder if the update will help bring this device back to life or not. I will personally always love it regardless of applications, custom UIs and a pretty desktop. The fact that I don’t own an Xbox 360 and have no intentions of buying one makes this news a bit depressing, but bearable. Hopefully market access will help, but more content providers and better support will make or break the remaining life span of the unit.
