LTE to be supported on Tegra 3 chips in the Future

In the wireless industry we are often times faced with issues. The primary issue that we see pop up that causes the most controversy is processor related. That is why you see such devices like the Galaxy S II variants on different carriers sporting a different processor then the original device. There could be a number of factors that cause this problem, but the most contributing factor has to do with the carriers data networks. For instance, with T-Mobiles network, you see mostly Qualcomm chipsets because those are what play nice with their 4G. The coveted Tegra 3 quad-core processor is highly sought after, but doesn’t play nice with many networks.  That is something NVIDIA knows, and is looking to solve.

NVIDIA has recently partnered up with GCT Semiconductors and Renesas mobile to help get their chipset up to speed, so to speak. With the combined efforts of the companies we should see Tegra 3 chips fully supported and functional on 4G LTE networks in the future. Hopefully it won’t take too long for them to gt it all worked out and bring some blazing fast devices to our blazing fast data connections.
