There is something to be said about timing when it comes to bringing a port to from iOS to Android. Some games or application can take over and dominate the world, like Angry Birds, while others need to ride the wave of popularity when it is at its highest point. This brings us to
Temple Run. A few weeks ago the game was a hot topic that everyone was waiting to see land on Android. The hype was huge, people were talking about it and it could have been huge. That time has passed and people have moved on. Imangi Studios has finally announced the game launch date as March 27th. Still nearly a month away. While they plan to launch the game for free, no doubt with ads, we wonder if they have missed the peak of its popularity already.
We are excited to finally share the Android release date with our fans who have been so enthusiastic and supportive of Temple Run. By expanding to more mobile devices, we hope to provide the same addictive and fast-paced gameplay to an entirely new group of players.
In case you have been out of the loop, Temple Run has you running frantically to escape from a temple all while being chased by a group of angry monkeys. Avoiding obstacles, picking up coins and taking 90 degree corners at break-neck speeds. It looks to be a good time and the downloads should still fair well.
