myTouch line by Huawei gets sneak preview shots Leaked

Leaked images of upcoming devices is a sure fire way to get some buzz generated about a device. We never know if some of the leaks are crafty employees or carefully planned marketing attempts. Either way, we still like to see a new device a bit early. Today we get a sneak peak at a production model of T-Mobiles upcoming myTouch line by Huawei. As many of you may already be aware of, this is the third company T-mobile has gone with for a myTouch signature series device. HTC started the series with the original myTouch 3g and made it through a few various additons before T-Mobile switched to LG. That partnership only last for one set of devices fairly recently and didn’t pan out so well. So now we move to Huawei.

We know they plan to bring another line of myTouch devices to the magenta carrier soon. We also know they will offer a screen only and slide out QWERTY keyboard version. Essentially being the same device but catering to both lifestyles. A large amount of the Huawei myTouch line is still a bit iffy. They have recently started to create some pretty impressive phones, but with the information that is known, the myTouch line isn’t aiming at the high-end market. The myTouch line is more about families and affordability. Looking at the images that Tmonews was able to get their hands on, it is looking like a 3.7 to 4.0 inch screen. The resolution is already known to be 800×480, so that screen size would fit the bill to still look good but not amazing. One of the photos also shows us another slight disappointment, the inclusion of Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread). We had hoped the next myTouch line would pull in that icy goodness everyone wants. As it sits right now though, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Not much else is known at the moment about these devices. As more information leaks out, we will be sure to let you know about it. Until then, what is your take on another mid-ranged myTouch line? Is keeping it fairly inexpensive and family aimed the right approach, or should T-Mobile take some time and produce a high-end competitor? Should they really focus some time and effort to bring a flagship line to their network that the other guys don’t have?
