Sony Music Entertainment is dabbling in the mobile game space with a recently released 2D side scrolling platformer title Rockin’ Goat. The trouble making goat is on a mission, a mission to start the greatest rock and roll band of all time. (Queue Tenacious D … Now)
‘Rockin’ Goat’ offers a rollicking 2D platform game play experience in which gamers ram and jam through nine levels and three different environments of vast landscapes and raging concert venues, and recruit other band members in challenging mini-games.
The game starts off with a funny little story line about the Goat, Elwood and Cluck “Sly” McGee the rooster. Elwood is your main goat character. The controls are pretty straight forward with a simple tap on the left to jump, or delayed taps for double jumps and a long press on the right side to ram through things. The obstacles will vary depending on your location, 9 total levels and 3 different environments. Figuring out what is best rammed and jump takes a bit of dying unfortunately. A little common sense helps, like, don’t ram a cactus that has its thorns out, but do ram it is it only shows flowers. Then you get thrown for a loop when you can ram through a fire pit. Once you get it down you should be fine.
