Jelly Bean delayed till next week for the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity

Earlier this morning we reported that Jelly Bean was on its way out to the ASUS Transformer PAD Prime and Infinity. No one came back around to let us know what was happening in the Transformer Infinity world, but we did see a few people pull the update down for the Prime. So that was a good 50/50 success. It looks like in all the hustle bustle of our day, we missed the update that ASUS provided via XDA about the Infinity update being held back. Terribly sorry we didn’t catch that for you guys.

It looks like the update is being held back until early next week. ASUS was kind enough to also offer up an explanation as to why. It is Apple’s fault…. Not really. Actually it is Facebook’s fault. The most recent Facebook update on 9/20 caused ASUS to have to rework the firmware a bit for the keyboard to operate correctly. They state that there are a few other apps involved that weren’t playing well either, but we will point the finger at Facebook. Just because it is fun.

So rest assured ASUS is hard at work to fix the issues they ran into and will get the update ASAP. It is nice to see them holding it back a little longer to solve issues then to release it and have an angry mob on their hands about problems. Our hats are off to you ASUS for not only getting the updates out, but keeping the community informed about what is really going on. We wish other manufacturers were like that. We will let you know when we see Jelly Bean go live next week.
