About an hour ago we posted about a rumour that said Android 5.1 on Android One devices could be a possibility as it was spotted on the official Android One website. As it turns out, it’s completely true as two of the devices that are being released in Indonesia, the Evercoss One X and Nexian Journey, have been spotted in person both running Android 5.1 and are apparently already shipping out now.
It might have been possible to fake one of these devices, but the presence of both devices both showing Android 5.1 makes it seems pretty legitimate to me. It’s still early days so we don’t actually know what’s different in Android 5.1, nor if any other devices besides Android One handsets are going to be getting the update any time soon, but we’re almost impressed that Google has been pushing out updates left, right and center for a whole manner of devices. Now if they could only slow down a little so that more devices could be updated to Android 5.0 first…
What do you think about officially seeing Android 5.1 on Android One devices? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
