Verizon has done what they do best, dropped an info sheet for an upcoming OTA for a device. This time around it is for the
Motorola Droid X2. The file size is only rolling in at 35mbs and have a software version of 1.3.418.MB870. With a file that small you now it isn’t going to be anything amazingly cool. It will add a little bloatware in the way of Verizon Video and VZ Navigator 3D city. There is a new Google security patch included as well. What makes the update a bit interesting is the ability to actually save and set purchased ringtones. I wasn’t aware you couldn’t before.
While this upcoming update will help out a bit, it is no ICS. So far we haven’t seen anything leading us to believe that the Droid X2 is ever going to get ICS in the future. THat doesn’t mean that the developers wont bring you some ICS goodness, just don’t expect Motorola or Verizon to do it. IF you see the update hit your device, let us know so others can keep their eyes open.
