On paper, the Nexus 6 is one of the most alluring devices out there for Android enthusiasts, but that’s only if you can get your hands on one. Lack of stock has rendered it almost as rare as the abominable snowman, however it looks like what few of them are out there could be suffering one or two issues. The two reported issues both have to do with the Nexus 6 back cover, but the sources of the issue are different – the first issue relates to the back cover popping off due to some issue related to the securing method Motorola has employed (read: glue), and the second issue relates to the battery swelling, also causing the back cover to pop off.
Neither situation is particularly good, but from the sounds of it, it isn’t just isolated cases where this is happening and in some cases the devices show these defects right out of the box. Motorola Support has acknowledged that there are a decent number of these cases floating around, but Motorola has stopped short of making an official statement. While you can get probably get away with hiding the issue with a case, which is what some users are doing, it’s not great press to hear so many devices suffering this issue. What’s more, even Motorola’s other devices like the Moto X 2014 and Motorola DROID Turbo are exhibiting the same kind of issues – let’s hope Motorola resolves these issues quickly.
