For those of you that heard about the original version of this widget last month, massive changes have been made. Either way you split it’s good news for everyone wanting to keep up with their favorite feeds. Minimal Reader Pro has a permanent spot on my phone where it’s predecessor once called home. The wonderful thing about the widget is the no fuss title, as I said about the first one, it is what it says and it works well. However, it’s has gotten quite a revamp, and now does everything it use to do even better.
After installing the widget and adding it to one of your home screens, you’ll be propositioned to add a feed. You can do this by simply imputing a url or importing feeds you already have setup through Google Reader. Any feeds you add will be listed under the “Manage” tab for you to review or delete. The options available for the display of your feeds have been altered a bit, but include:
- Filters
- Feed Scrolling Management
- Refresh Rate
- Maximum Items to Show
If you’re familiar with this widget then you know that it use to pop up a direct link to the website whenever you clicked on a feed. Well that no longer happens instead it a new window has be added that displays the complete article instantly in it’s own window that can easily be closed and reloaded. Not only does this new window display the whole article it also displays the pictures included (unless the option has been turned off). On top of that you are allotted more customizations for how the widget looks as well as the new reader panel. Options range from size, color, alignment, buttons, and the ability to show or hide the background.
Overall I really like this widget. Both pro version and the regular version have been updated, however the regular version is lacking a few options. You can purchase the pro version or download the free one below. Hope you enjoy this widget as much as I do. =)

Development only succeeds when the community helps, developers can only catch so many issues until the app is running smoothly on their device, what may work for that device may not work as smooth on yours.
