Review: Agloves, we (g)love you! The glove that keeps you warm and Productive

The colder months are coming and well, for some, they have already hit. One thing I personally hate more than anything is the set of gloves that I currently have, I have to whip them off just to use my Evo LTE. My hand goes from warm to freezing cold in just a matter of seconds. Well a company that was titled “Best of CES 2012″ (The Daily Buzz) created something that is simple, yet mind-blowing. Agloves are patent pending  gloves that are made with silver-coated nylon fibers and named after silvers table of elements sign. The geek in me smiled at the well used name.

Agloves sent us a pair of Agloves Grip Touch to review. The last time I was so excited about gloves was when I was in marching band and got my new set of Grip gloves. All jokes aside, let’s get started on this review.

To start off the Agloves Grip Touch come in a unisex black color and cost $29.99 (not including tax) and come with FREE shipping.

[The Good]

  • When you look at the competition for touch screen gloves out there, the market is on the side of expensive and  unconventional (fingertips exposed). Agloves provides a much-needed revolution in a market lacking usability and wallet friendly products.
  • Agloves come in 3 different sizes (S/M, M/L, and xL), so fit is something you should not have to really worry about.
  • Styles, Aglove offers 5 different styles to meet your personal lifestyle and likes.
  • Color, as I stated they come in a black color and well as my wife has always told me, black goes with just about everything.
  • Warmth, despite its lack of thickness the gloves are really warm and on most days should keep your hands nice and toasty. In cold weather, I cannot tell you how they can withstand blizzard-like weather as I live in Texas and cold for me is anything near 40 degrees F. Being as these gloves are not that thick, I’m sure one could slip on other gloves over them as to act like liner gloves. When the outer gloves come off, at least your bare hands won’t be exposed.
  • Usability, these gloves passed every test I gave them from 10 finger typing on my tablet, to texting on my Evo LTE. My game playing was not interrupted by the gloves, and you can bet not one little pig got away from me and my Angry Birds. There was nothing I could not do with out gloves that I could not do with the gloves on.

[The Bad]

  • What kinda review would this be if  I didn’t point out the things I personally think  could use some tweeking. First would be the lack of colors. I’m sure there is a reason scientifically reason for this, combining elements is not something that just happens, it takes time. However, color choice adds options and people like options, plain and simple
  • Second, the lack of thickness, now this is something I know for a fact is based on science. You can only go so thick before the silver-coated nylon fibers go dead (non-usable). Also, wool according to Agloves is a thick and warm product, but like I continue to say the science behind Agloves does not play nice with wool

[Overall]

Agloves is a well-rounded product that is great for any person. Whether you’re a smartphone power-user or just a normal end-user that uses their smartphone for the bare minimum, I would highly recommend these gloves. I give them “5 stars” rating.

On a side note

Last, this goes out to Android fanboys and iPhone bashers, you know who you are. In the endless fight to determine a winner of the top Smartphone Platform, companies like Agloves have not gotten a fair chance. Just because a product is adored by the Apple users does not mean it does not deserve the same love and attention from Android users. Let’s show Agloves some Android love and check out their product and tell them AndroidStory sent you. Remember Agloves, AndroidStory (g)Loves you too!
