Rumor: Current HTC Devices Running 2.2 To See New HTC Sense

A rumor is circulating around that suggests that the new HTC Sense UI which debuted at the HTC London event on the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z may be heading to current HTC Sense devices that are running Froyo. The new HTC Sense brings many new features like:

  • HTCSense.com account sign in which includes mobile backup and phone locator
  • Users will be able to customize which screen they see first using the homescreen preview feature
  • New HTC applications
    • HTC Hub
    • HTC Likes
    • eReader
  • New HTC Skin feature (shown above) that allows you to theme your device in a matter of seconds

You can find more information about the new HTC Sense feature by click here.

According to a recent tweet by HTC Spain (which has since been removed) that other devices with Android 2.2 will be updated to the new version of Sense. Below is the message from Twitter.

In a rough translation, the above message states:

The Desire and rest of terminals with version 2.2 (Froyo) will be able to enjoy the #Htcsense a greeting

We’re assuming that the HTC Spain twitter account is real by the removal of this message, but we must remind you that this is only a rumor and as with all rumors not taken as fact. It would make sense that all current high-end devices would receive the update, but this is all we know on the matter for now. Having ran the Desire HD port on my HD2, let’s hope this update comes and soon.

How many of you are eager to get this new HTC Sense?
