Samsung Mobile Spain Pegs October For Galaxy S Froyo Update

The Samsung Galaxy S devices have been a big success overseas and with their variants in the US, but the question on everyone’s mind is when their device will be receiving Android 2.2? A recent rumor suggested the update to start hitting devices around September 23rd coming from Samsung’s Finland branch has been hovering around the community and today we are learning that Samsung Mobile Spain has given us a little more details on when the update might hit on their Facebook page.

Using Google Translate the above message states:

Many of us are wondering about the date of publication of the Update for Galaxy S. Froy
Finally it will be in late October through Samsung Kies.

It’s hasn’t been determined yet if this is directed to Spain specific Galaxy S phones, but another idea when Galaxy S devices could be seeing Android 2.2. September 23rd is Thursday and until it’s behind us, we can’t really rule that time frame out, although Samsung Mobile Spain carries a little more weight than the previous Finland branch repair department.

The September 23rd time frame could be the original plans for the update, but as bugs and engineer vacations come along, they could have pushed it back to a late October release.
