Wireless charging isn’t anything new to us. We have seen some pretty amazing feats from Duracell and the Powermat line up. Mainly focused at iPhone and needing a special case in-order to make it work. We also recently saw Toshiba show of some wireless charging with their waterproof tablet while inside a fish tank. The most impressive form of wireless charging, or even wireless power we have seen was from Fulton Innovation. Making it possible to charge your device through metal, through stone counter tops and so much more. It is pretty impressive and extremely cutting edge.
Samsung is no stranger to cutting edge. They are apparently looking into creating their own Qi standard wireless charging station that could potentially charge your device from 1 to 2 meters away. Samsung is unsure if they will put the charging station in the box with your new device or if it will become available as an additional accessory. Having a device that is ready to rock on the Qi standard out of the box is a pretty fantastic idea if you ask me. Regardless if people adopt it right off the bat or not. The progress at which the wireless charging technology has mad in just over a year, and with plans to have it built into tables, cars, college desks, schools and even your local coffee shops. You would finally be able to travel cable free and still keep your device at fill power just by setting it down.
