Samsung Galaxy S Shipments Reach 3 Million in the US, 7 Million Shipped Worldwide

Samsung Electronics has reported the shipment of three million Galaxy S smartphones to the United States since its July launch kicking off with T-Mobile’s Samsung Vibrant. Worldwide numbers have also grown considerably, with a reported total of 7 million Samsung Galaxy S smartphones shipped worldwide – just weeks after it was announced that shipments had hit the 5 million mark.

In a statement issued to Reuters during the unveiling on the Samsung Continuum, Samsung Electronic’s Chief Marketing Officer Paul Golden said:

“We’re in a situation where we wish we had more supply”

That statement truly attests to the success Samsung is getting with the Galaxy S series. Good investment, don’t you think?

According to Golden, supply shortages of the company’s AMOLED display are believed to be the current cause of the slow production. Golden says the company is working on ramping up its screen production. With the success of the Galaxy S line of devices, I am sure it’s safe to say Samsung loves Android – a sign of more Android smartphones to come.
