HTC myTouch 4G Slide and EVO View 4G bootloader unlock added to HTCDev

HTC myTouch 4G Slide and EVO View 4G users have anxiously been awaiting to get their bootloaders unlocked, and today HTCDev has finally posted the tool to help do that. This will benefit EVO View 4G users the most, as they have just received Sprint’s Android 3.2 Honeycomb update. It’s great to see HTC helping out the developer community and providing tools to unlock the bootloader rather than having developers spend months of work to unlock the bootloader only to come out empty-handed (e.g The HTC Rezound is still unrooted, with a locked bootloader).

Of course, unlocking your bootloader will void your warranty, meaning that if you run into software troubles or potentially “brick” your phone, you’re then out of luck and HTC won’t replace it. But of course, as long as you know what you’re doing, the risk of “bricking” your device is next to nothing. Hit up the source link if you’ve got a myTouch 4G Slide or EVO View that you want to unlock!
