Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 2 announced, tosses in MicroSD Slot and ICS

We often wonder what manufacturers are thinking when they build and release their next set of devices. The recent line of tablets from Samsung is all but confusing to us. The latest iteration of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is getting a spiffy ‘2’ added to the mix. It has a slight resemblance to the 10.1n that they had to push out to fight off Apple suites a while back. Good idea to stick with a design that can’t be sued, yet. As for new editions to the 10.1 2, nothing to make a person run out and grab one.

  • 10.1-inch 1280×800 PLS TFT display
  • Android 4.0 with TouchWiz UX
  • 16/32GB Internal storage, expandable MicroSD up to 32GB
  • 1GB RAM
  • 1GHz Dual-core processor
  •  7,000 mAh battery

Do you see any differences to the current model? With the exception of the SD card slot and Ice Cream Sandwich it is pretty similar. Although the ICS addition is great to see, it just means that they probably will hold off on the Tab 10.1 update for a while to user in sales of the Tab 2. It is scheduled to land in the UK sometime in March with other countries soon to follow. Hopefully the lack of something spectacular in their tablets is due to the extra efforts poured into the Galaxy S III.
