Samsung has announced that it would launch three new smartphones with 4G LTE support in India next month – the Galaxy J1 4G, Galaxy Core Prime 4G and Galaxy Grand Prime 4G, which are basically LTE variants of the smartphones that are currently available in the country.
The smartphones will bear price tags starting from INR 9,900 (~ $160) and would be available for purchase starting from the second week of March. All the three devices will support both TD-LTE in Band 40 and FDD-LTE in Band 3 – the two technologies are used to provide 4G LTE connectivity in India.
The Samsung Galaxy J1 4G features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core SoC, 4GB internal storage expandable up to 128GB, 5-megapixel rear-facing and 2-megapixel front-facing camera.The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime 4G ships with a 4.5-inch screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core chipset, 8GB internal storage capacity which can be expanded up to 64GB, 5-megapixel primary and 2-megapixel secondary snapper. The Galaxy Grand Prime 4G has a 5-inch TFT capacitive display, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor, 8GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 64GB, 8-megapixel back and 5-megapixel front camera. All the three devices runs Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top.
Samsung is yet to announce the official prices of the three smartphones but the devices look a shade lighter when compared to Lenovo A6000, Yu Yureka and Xiaomi Redmi Note, all of which come with 4G LTE support, and are priced under INR 10,000 (~ $160).
