Looks like a bunch of important Samsung people met at their HQ in Seoul, Korea, today. This meeting was to discuss the new design changes that will be implemented into future Samsung devices. This strategy is codenamed “Design 3.0”, and I would not be surprised if they are discussing a non-plastic approach.
During the conference, new ideas on current design trend in the electronics market and strategies were exchanged. Everyone at the meeting agreed that consumers should be able to identify Samsung products easily.
“Design 3.0,†Samsung Electronics’ new design strategy, focuses not only on external beauty and technical practicality of new products, but also about creating positive values and connecting with consumers.
Design 1.0 was the strategy before the Galaxy S III came out, and the nature inspired design of the Galaxy S III was Design 2.0. Since Samsung pretty much kept the same design with the S4, there was no incremental step up until now. Something tells me we will be seeing some metal Galaxy devices starting in 2014. I cannot see the company sticking with plastic for too much longer. Let us know what you guys think about this.
