Just a few months ago the Apple iPhone 4S was released, and one of its most prominent features was Siri, an assistant that helped you complete your everyday tasks. Android users said that this was nothing new and that they’ve had this for months, but honestly, Siri was ten times better than the Voice Commands featured on Android. Later, it was rumored that Google was working on their own voice assistant, dubbed ‘Majel,’ and would release the software in future versions of Ice Cream Sandwich, aka Android 4.0.
Today, a Korean Android app developer got tired of waiting for Google to release Majel, and has released a Siri-clone app called ‘Speerit.’ Its got visuals that look similar to Siri, with a slightly different Microphone icon than Siri as well, probably to avoid any legal trouble with Apple. The app is considered a real clone of Siri, and has the exact icons found in iOS as well.
The downside to this app is that unless you understand Korean, you’re out of luck. The app can interpret English correctly, but only speaks back Korean. The developer has stated that they plan to support English in the future, which is great news. The app is also currently free to download if any of you are up to the challenge and have nothing else to do on this fine Friday afternoon.
