The G2 Is T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ device and with the device theoretically able to pull speeds of just over 14Mbps, we’re pretty sure Sprint should start rethinking their theoretical 5Mbps. The Samsung Vibrant is not an HSPA+ device, but it does run on T-Mobile’s HSPA network which is still considerably faster than 3G and much better than T-Mobile EDGE network.
In the video below, we’ll see the T-Mobile G2, Vibrant and Sprint Epic 4G run the same test and while the location of where the test is being conducted is providing spotty HSPA coverage, we still get an idea of the speed capabilities of the first HSPA+ device for TMO.
As the battle for top data networks is young, we’re very eager to see what new technology is to come as Verizon gears up to launch their LTE network as well as LTE devices. AT&T is also planning their 4G network although 4G talk has been quiet. Among these devices and the only networks boasting 4G T-Mobile trumps Sprint, but we’re curious to know how Sprint plans to respond as technology is always evolving.
Tell us what you all think about the current 4G networks and 4G devices in the comments below.
