Google has begun rolling out an update to the stable channel of Chrome OS, that is what you find on the Chromebooks, to version 40. Many of the changes are all under-the-hood changes that fix bugs, address security issues and make things a little smoother. There are a few smaller details that users might notice, while not major, they are still new to the build version. One being the default wallpaper has been updated to a material design wall.
If you sport multiple Chromebooks, the custom wallpaper you choose on one will sync across to all your others. The final piece that might interest users is an Emjoi Palette that lets you quickly access emoji icons.
The update is rolling out to Chromebooks everywhere. If you aren’t seeing the update yet you can head to Settings – About Chrome OS – Check for and apply updates. At least, that is where it is on the ASUS C300 Chromebook. It only takes a few minutes to download and install. Enjoy.
