Super Stickman Golf 2 Game Tips and More

Super Stickman Golf 2 Tips and Tricks
A person might not think that a simple golfing game would need some strategy guides or at least suggestion for completing. If you are playing Super Stickman Golf 2, then I am sure there are at least some of you out there that need a little help or guidance. I know I would have liked a little nudge in the right direction. So I am going to cover some of the ways that I approach the game, certain courses and how I personally play. Your methods or approach could be dramatically different then mine, but maybe I will inspire you to try something else.

When I first started playing Super Stickman Golf 2 I just aimed and smashed the ball. This works out on the first couple of courses as they aren’t extremely difficult. As you progress to the last two courses in the first tour and then find yourself moving to the next tours, you will see that Super Stickman Golf 2 has a lot more in common with Chess than with Golf. You need to plan every shot accordingly. Taking the time to aim your shot based what your next set of shots will be. Most courses have a long approach to the green and a short approach. The short cut might not be the best route for you to take. You have to look and see how tough of a shot it is, how many power ups you are willing to offer up if needed and if the power ups vs the extra few strokes savings is worth the trouble. The great thing about SSG2 is that you can practice any hole before you even play the course or afterwards. If you had particular trouble getting under par on a hole, go spend some time playing that hole and figure out your personal approach and strategy. you also get unlimited power ups in practice. When you are playing the full course, save those power ups for the holes that give you the most trouble.

TIP #1 Recap – Plan every shot to the green before you even tee off. If you end up somewhere you didn’t want to be, re-plan the rest of the shots again. Decided if a power up will help, or just be a waste before you use it. Save your power ups for the most challenging holes or for holes with a high par, that have a quick way to the green in 2 shots.

Completing a course is obviously your goal. The better you do on a course the more XP points you get, and often times extra Golf Bux or new power up balls. Don’t let objectives or Golf Bux distract you. Super Stickman Golf 2 is set up to be replayed and enjoyed over and over again. Focus on one task at a time. If a Golf Bux is in your intended trajectory, see if you can pick it up while you are there. If it isn’t, focus on getting to the green and going for the gold star. 10 under par on any course is going to give you a gold star. Between 9 and 5 under par gets you a silver and 0 to 4 gets you a bronze star. I play a new course through for the first time without any objectives in my mind. More so just learning the course and how to best approach each hole. Snag a few golf bucks along the way when possible. I still shoot for the best score I can possibly get, but I aim more at just finishing the hole and the course first. The I repeat the course and specifically aim at getting under 10 par if I didn’t do it the first time.

TIP #2 Recap – Play each new hole and course to the best of your abilities. Don’t get side tracked by other goals, objectives or Golf Bux. Take the longer safer way if you feel the short route is too risky. play it safe and hope you pull the Gold Star out on the first time through.

Each course has three primary objectives to compete. Gold star, Clean Ball and all the Golf Bux. You can easily loose your mind trying to all three in one round. You will often need to play a set course at least 3 times, if not many more, to get each one. Once you have completed the course with a gold star, play it again and don’t use a single power up. The trick though is that you still have to finish at or under par. If you get to the 5th hole and are 10 over because of extra stokes and hazards, you are pretty much hosed. You can either start over, or finish the course looking for Golf Bux. Even a bad round will offer some sort of benefit.

TIP #3 Recap – Approach the goals one at a time per round. Don’t try to do all three at once. Focus on par without power ups and steer clear of short cuts and power ups so that you can earn the Clean Ball award. If you are to far in the hole in strokes to recover, start looking for Golf Bux and finish the course anyways. You can still come out of it with some XP and maybe a couple extra Bux.

Golf Bux are the in-game currency that you can use to buy more power ups and try your hand at the Hat Lottery. The Hats will probably be your biggest benefit, at least for the first 12 or so holes. After that, you might need plenty of power ups to even get through a course once. There are 10 Golf Bux placed on every hole. Getting all 10 will give you an XP boost and the award for collecting them all. They don’t have to be collected in one round. Once you get the Bux, it is in your bank. Picking up the Bux when you see them and they are part of your shot is the easy part. Picking up the out-of-the-way Bux is where it gets a bit more tricky and interesting. They force you to use power ups or secret tunnels to grab them. They are usually off the beaten path and will dramatically increase your shot count. This is why I recommend saving that hole award for the end. You will burn through sticky balls, ice balls, Mulligan and hazard switches in a hurry. What ever you do though, DO NOT SPEND GOLF BUX ON POWER UPS. At least in the sense that spending your Bux to get a power up to get a Bux is a waste. If you get three or four Bux and still have 4 more to get but you need a special power up to do it, skip it and come back to the Bux in the next round. Remember  par and getting Bux aren’t in the same sentence. Just get the Bux. Saving this task for last on a hole lets you not worry about hitting the water hazard 22 times to pick up the Bux that is floating above it. Sometimes it is better to hit that hazard 22 times and save that power up for a hole further along.

TIP #4 Recap – Don’t waste time, strokes or power ups to get Bux unless that is your primary goal on the course at that time. Don’t stress if it takes you 30+ strokes on one hole to finally get that Bux. That is your only focus, not your stroke count. Once you have all the Bux you can quite the course if you want to, or finish it out so that can snag a little more XP at the end.

Don’t burn yourself out on a particular course. If you aren’t able to get the three main achievements  move on. I find it rather helpful to move to the next course, or another course, simple to get away from the same one that I have played 5 or 6 times already. It helps the mind change gears and refocus on what you are trying achieve. The same thing applies when you get into tour 3, 4 and 5. They get ridiculously crazy and can push your blood pressure over the edge. If you are having trouble on a harder course, go back and give your self a confidence booster and play an easier course again. Not only will it boost your confidence, but it will help boost your XP when you another gold star.

TIP #5 Recap – Don’t let a difficult keep you from enjoying the game. Take a step back and play a course that was easier. Earn some more XP along the way. Possibly go snag those missing Golf Bux or get that Clean Ball award.

When you think you have crowned yourself king of a tour or hole, go check the achievements page. The Achievements page is loaded full of craziness. There are currently 53 achievements that you can earn. This is all separate from the Golf Bux, the Clean Ball and the Gold Star. You can only earn each achievement once, but some are much harder than you would like them to be. Some offer up a new power up for you ball and some Golf Bux, other just give you Golf Bux. Some are easy and ones you will achieve without even knowing it, like Par Sticky Land to get 2 Golf Bux and the Sticky Ball power up. Others are for reaching 500, 1000, 2000 or 3000 combined strokes. Yet harder still, making a hole in one without touch the green, bag three hole in ones in a row, or completing a certain hole without touching sticky goo. There are some rather intense achievements to shoot for. Most of the time these extra achievements will happen by accident. However, there are a fair number of achievements that are rather specific. Checking out the list, finding one that you haven’t completed yet and spending the time to make it happen can be a fun way to pass the time. Especially since the single hole achievements can be earned in practice mode. That gives you unlimited power-ups and restarts to nail that tricky hole in one or clearing the gap.

TIP# 6 Recap – Check your achievements page every so often. You might find a power up ball that you missed, or see an achievement that you know you could easily go complete. It does earn you more Golf Bux and adds  a little more replay value to plenty of holes and courses.

The last few tips I will offer are rather simple ones. Play and enjoy the game. It is fun, frustrating and tedious at times. You will go back and play a hole that you sank it in 2 and make a mistake and barely make a par 5. Spend the time playing course and holes to improve your XP so that you can level up your golfer. All it does is unlock more golfers to choose from and unlocks more tours. Get involved in some multiplayer games. Even if you lose, you get the experience and the XP. If you win, you get XP and some Golf Bux. That and it is kind of fun to see how someone else plays a hole compared to how you might play a hole.

Oh, one more little tip. Finding all the Bux on the Sticky Land course, You need to shoot your ball through the pipe on hole two. Most Bux are easy to see on the course screen, these took me a few play through to locate. Check out the screen shots to see what I mean.
