Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded still on the docket for Android and OUYA in April

I am not sure if you remember, but back in October we found news of Replay Games gaining the rights to Leisure Suit Larry. It made the news and hit the web like a wild fire. At the time we heard from Replay Games and they let the world know of their intentions with the game. While the news was about a PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android version to be the targets, we haven’t heard anything from them in a fairly long time. Being that it has nearly been a year since it was talked about, we thought it was time to put our resources to work and get some answers. I don’t about you guys, but I would love some Leisure Suit Larry on my Android devices.

This evening I heard back from the CEO of Replay Games. Let me tell you, what he let me know sure has me excited again. Replay Games in partnership with N-Fusion Interactive. they are still working and planning to bring us Leisure Suite Larry. The most current information points to an April launch across all the mentioned platforms along with OUYA. That is new for sure. They are also in talks with Microsoft to bring the title to XBOX Live Arcade. Since I loath Microsoft, that part doesn’t particularly interest me, but I know it is great news for many for you guys.

The more we dig into Leisure Suite Larry and Replay Games, the more we are finding out. For instance, they have secured over $750,000 from Kickstarter and PayPal contributions to make the return of Larry more than possible. That is a whole lot of money for call girls, booze and drugs. At least in this case, a whole lot of cash to bringing Larry back to the mainstream and teaching a whole generation how the worlds most  “lovable loser” goes about his life.

 

Does it get much better? It sure does. You Leisure Suit Larry enthusiasts can follow all the happenings and updates about the progress of the game through Replay Games forums. Updates get posted every other Tuesday and go live by Wednesday. The last update in information was put out on 3/18, so it definitely recent and Replay Games is doing great at keeping Kickstarter backers and the general public up to date on progress. Judging from the notes in the update, a beta version should be out shortly. Yes, I said a beta version. We aren’t sure how beta testing will commence, but if we have a chance to get in on the action, you bet your ass we will be there for it. Well, maybe someone else’s ass.

All we know though is that we got a fairly large response in emails and chatter on G+ when we brought this game back up again. We thought we owed to our selves and to our readers to go find out some more details. As things develop in the debauchery that is Leisure Suit Larry, we will do everything we can to keep you posted, primarily when it will official launch and how much it will set up back for a fully remastered 2013 version of a game that changed the industry forever.
