Swype updated, brings Next Word Prediction and a 4-in-1 Keyboard

I’ve never really been a fan of Swype, but I know plenty of users out there that are. Swype, the famous keyboard alternative for Android users has gotten a major update, which brings better word prediction and and a new “4-in-1” keyboard input method, thanks to Nuance’s XT9 technology.

Swype users have long been awaiting for better text prediction, which Swype has now brought to the table. They’re calling it “Next Word Prediction,” which guesses which word will be next depending on your historical usage. There’s also a new voice-to-text dictionary, which basically adds every new word that a user inputs into their personal dictionary. Swype can also use this new technology in your texts and emails to have a better understanding of how you really “swype.” No (bad) pun intended.

In addition to Swype’s new prediction technology, another major new feature is the new “4-in-1” input method. Aside from Swyping to input text, users can also type on each key individually, tap on the Nuance Dragon Dictation button for speech input, or just draw individual characters on their keyboard. No matter which input method you choose, Swype will learn the way you talk through Nuance’s XT9 technology.

The update is still in beta form, so if you want to grab it you’re going to need to hit the source link below.
