New ICS leak lands for HTC Rezound Owners

Left: New Build Right: Old Build

One thing we can always count on from carriers is the lack of timely updates and support. That doesn’t mean the community is SOL though. Back in mid-march a leaked build of Ice Cream Sandwich for the HTC Rezound found its way to users. Like most leaks it had its issues. It was definitely a work in progress, but it was nice to see something being worked on. It looks like those clever little buggers at AndroidPolice have gotten their hands on another leak that is definitely a newer build and should function a lot better than the last one. It is labeled as build 3.13.605.7, Android 4.0.3. The update also has some new radios packed up inside. That can be a good thing for many users.

This is more than likely a release candidate and not the final build that will be launching as an OTA in the future. That doesn’t make it any less good to see. There are a few things that are rather important to know if you plan to play with the newest leak. Most importantly is that you need to be stock with a locked bootloader and not unlocked at all. Not sure we recommend users that are unfamiliar with root, bootloaders and how to flash software attempt to install this, but that is all up to you.

Nice one guys.
