Re-Logic’s RPG game Terraria will find a new home on mobile devices this summer. Currently, the game is available on Steam, Xbox Live and the Playstation Network.
The game was initially launched on PCs in May 2011, reportedly selling over 50,000 copies on its first day of release.
Similar to other exploration games like Minecraft, players gather resources, advance their character’s attributes and complete goals, all while fending off a variety attackers. Characters start out with a copper axe, a copper pickaxe and a copper shortsword, with the choice of three difficulty options: Softcore, Mediumcore, and Hardcore.
The mobile edition will support leader boards, achievements and Facebook integration for sharing game content. Game development is being done by Codeglue, a Dutch game studio.
