Beats, Advanced Rhythm Game by Keripo was just released 5 days ago to the Android market and was recently updated earlier today.
Beats is a music-based rhythm game where you tap to the beat of your favorite song, similar to StepMania, DJ Max, Beatmania IIDX, and Dance Dance Revolution (DDR).
~1.1b Quick Changelog~

– .smzip support
– pause/resume
– lots of fixes
– more settings/changes based on user feedback
Latest version: 1.1b (for all Android versions)
The best part, of course, is that it’s free. You don’t have to be a DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) fan to enjoy this title. I could never get my feet or body to move well enough to ever play the widely popular Arcade game. I was more of a Guitar Hero fan. I must say this is a pretty addictive and fun game. Take a look below.
The controls are amazing and the game play is great. It supports multi touch so you don’t miss the double steps at one time. There is access to 2 songs on initial download with a huge amount of settings from changing the fall rate of the steps to difficulty level and even how many health points you lose when you miss a step. The developer even lets you adjust the the music if there is lag on the phone to sync it up correctly. It looks like the developer put a lot of thought into this application.
The only draw back I have found so far in this game is the music support. The game supports .smzip files so you can download more songs to play along with. There is a button that says “download more” but unfortunately when I selected that it failed on me so I wasn’t able to look for more songs. I’m not entirely sure if one could locate them on other sites. I don’t see why you couldn’t. There is an “Install Songs” choice on the main screen of the app so it is possible to find the right file format and transfer to your phone and install manually. Hopefully the developer will get that resolved very soon.
Here is a video of this game in action. Note: This is  beta 1.0 version so some changes have been made since this video was made but conveys the game very well..
With that being the only drawback I was able to locate at this time, I still give it 4 stars, maybe 4.5 stars. If you are DDR fan or a fan of that genre I Â highly recommend picking this game up.
UPDATE: I was also able to locate a song list with a download link HERE
