Xoom, GSM Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus set to get Android 4.0.4 Update

Earlier today the AOSP got a new source to work with, Android 4.0.4. This news definitely made a few people in the development community happy. The new incremental update is said to have hundreds of small changes that make the overall experience even better, not sure how that is possible. Google engineer Jean-Baptiste Queru made the news public via Google Groups and offered up a little more insight. Stating that it has “stability improvements, better camera performance, smoother screen rotation improved phone number recognition and more.”

While new source for developers to work from is great news for every Android enthusiast, some sit by their device waiting for an OTA. The Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi is on the update list to 4.0.4. The GSM Nexus S is said to be already receiving the update right now. The third device that is confirmed for update is the Galaxy Nexus… No, not the Verizon version, the GSM/HSPA+ versions. Looks like the Verizon addition is working against people, still. No word on the Nexus S 4G or Verizon’s Gnex currently, but a tip places an update around mid April.

For the owners of the three mentioned devices, be on the look out for your OTA. You might get lucky and prompted it through the settings. Happy updating.
