HTC Evo 4G gets some plan information

If you want to save your self the reading, it boils down to this: it’s going to cost you. Now with that question out of the way, lets get to it.

The current rumored launch date is Sunday, June 6th.  Sprint employees are being trained on the device as well as the special rate plans that will be coming out.  That’s where the costing you is going to come in, and not just if you plan on making use of that 4G and WiMax hotspot access. Here is some information to consider:

  • A new Evo rate plan must be purchased, no voice-only or legacy plans allowed. Current customers will not be able to keep their current plan.
  • If an Evo is part of a shared minute plan, everyone in the group must also have the Evo-level data and messaging service.

Also, if you’re wondering if 4G is going to be in your neck of the woods, if it’s not already, here’s the rollout list:  Jacksonville and Daytona, FL; Kansas City, KS; Nashville, TN; St. Louis, MO; Salt Lake City, UT; Merced, Modesto, Stockton, and Visalia, CA; Wilmington, DE; Grand Rapids, MI; Eugene, OR; and Yakima and Tri-Cities, WA.
