LG has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the LG G3 in India today. It is available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants which are priced at Rs. 47,990 and Rs. 50,990 respectively. At an event in Mumbai, LG also unveiled the G Watch, which has also launched priced at Rs. 14,999. However, the LG G3 buyers will get Rs. 5000 discount on the purchase of the LG G Watch in addition to a free QuickCircle case and one-time screen replacement (Rs. 6,500). LG is also released 15,000 limited edition Big B phones which will feature Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan’s autographs.
LG G3 is a successor of Korean firm’s previous model, the LG G2. It features a 5.5-inch AH-IPS LCD display with QHD resolution and 538 ppi pixel density. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat and LG’s new flat UI on top of it. It is available in Metallic Black, Silk White, Shine Gold, Moon Violet and Burgundy Red colors.
The device runs on a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. The 16 GB variant has 2GB of RAM while the 32 GB one comes with 3GB of RAM. The storage can be expanded by up to 128GB using the microSD slot present onboard. The LG G3 comes with a 13 MP rear-facing camera with two-tone dual-LED flash and laser autofocus, which is also capable of recording 4K 2160p videos. It also features a front-facing 2.1-megapixel shooter which comes with timer. The device will also compatible with 4G LTE networks (2300MHz) in India. The high-end device houses a 3000mAh removable battery and comes with wireless charging as well. It is currently competing with smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S5, Sony Xperia Z2, HTC One M8 and OnePlus One.
