The map that provides a pinned location where Google Fiber is available is slowly getting bigger. Joining the ranks of “upcoming fiber cities” is Salt Lake City Utah. That move will give Utah two Fiber cities as Provo is already hooked up. It also joins Nashville, Atlanta, Charlotte and Raleigh-Druham in the design phase.
Over the next several months Google will be working with the mentioned cities to map out exactly where they will be laying out the fiber-optic cables. They don’t give any estimated time for when signing up for the ultra fast access will begin, but they do offer a ‘Notify Me’ page where you can submit your address to be among the first to know when it will start taking on sign-ups. The same site also lets you track the projects stages.
